Locally Grown Baby Shower

I recently came across the cutest baby shower invitation. It was a farmers market theme which I thought was so fun and not the traditional baby shower you see all the time. When I was asked by Re-Play to put together a shower to showcase their new infant spoon, and they wanted me to use the green color way, I knew it was a perfect fit.

I started at my local farmers market, that happens every Tuesday, and stocked up on the most beautiful vegetables. So many fun colors to play with and the biggest beets I have ever seen! I set up my actual market under the table using a variety of rustic crates, scales, and wire baskets. Anything you might find at your local market. I set out a variety of different sized bags so guests could fill them up and take them home as part of a thank you. I also made some homemade carrot bread and wrapped it with the cutest vegetable wrapping paper I found in the dollar section of Michaels.

For the top of the table I pulled down an old window I have hanging above my fireplace and used it as the backdrop. Added the cute banner that came along with all the paper items I purchased from Etsy and it was so simple and easy. For the snacks I wanted to use things you might find at your local market. So instead of a cake I picked up a peach pie. We also had some fruit cups, strawberry pastries and some chocolate cupcakes on top of a bed of dried peas.

I found some great fruit flavored soda and vegetable infused water the last time I was in World Market which I thought fit the theme perfectly. For some added decor I found some vintage pea labels online and wrapped them around soup cans and filled with babies’ breath. I broke up 2 heads of kale to cover the top of the table to help break up all the wood aspects and bring in some color. The last thing I added was the adorable hand embroidered vegetable banner on the front.

For the mama to be I put together a cute little gift basket with some newborn essentials. Diapers, wipes, a great little bedtime story, an adorable baby veggie onesie and those great Re-Play baby spoons.

About Jamie

Hi! My name is Jamie with Five Whimsy Lane and I like to make things pretty. Parties especially. Glitter enthusiast...lover of all things chocolate & a partynista. Is that a word? Wifey to one fabulous husband and mother to 3 amazing children, Caleb, Leilani & Olivia who are my main inspiration. What more could a girl ask for? When I'm not scouring Pinterest for hours (I'm working honey, I promise) you can find me digging in my fairy garden, dancing with the kids or cleaning my Dyson. Who wants a dirty vacuum? My love for parties began over 10 years ago when I was planning my sons 1st birthday. I realized I had a huge passion for details (some might call it an obsession). After many years and wonderful birthday memories later Sweet Jelly Parties was born. Children's events and baby showers are our specialty but I'm a lover of all reasons to celebrate. Anniversaries, holidays, graduations, it's a Friday so let's throw a party.....You name it, I'll glitter it. Every once in a while though I like to trade in my juice box for a glass of wine which is why I'm also a Certified Wedding Planner.
