Family Date- Glamping (Camping in Style)

It is officially summer and I couldn’t be more excited! When I was growing up the one things we did all the time was go camping. It felt like every weekend. Unfortunately, my family hasn’t been able to get out camping as much as I would like so I wanted to share some of my experiences with my girls. Since it was a girls night I thought why not change things up a bit and go “Glamping” so that’s just what we did. We pitched a tent, made a yummy Smores Snack Mix and even Painted Story Stones to use around our Flameless Campfire. The fire was definitely my most favorite part. Here is how I made it:

Flameless Campfire

Ingredients

  • Large rocks
  • Bundle of sticks
  • Twine
  • Battery operated candles
  • Glitter paper
  • Scissors
  • Pen
  • Glitter paint & brush
  • Flame Shape printouts

Instructions

  1. Lay out your rocks to make a border for your fire and center your candles.
  2. I wanted my sticks to have a little shimmer to them so I put a quick coat of glitter paint on them and let them dry.
  3. I found 2 free flame outlines online, printed them out in different sizes and then cut them out.
  4. Trace your flame outlines onto the back of your glitter paper, trace then cut out.
  5. Turn your candles on and then bundle your sticks standing up around them. Gather them at the top and then tie together with twine.
  6. Insert your flames throughout.

About Jamie

Hi! My name is Jamie with Five Whimsy Lane and I like to make things pretty. Parties especially. Glitter enthusiast...lover of all things chocolate & a partynista. Is that a word? Wifey to one fabulous husband and mother to 3 amazing children, Caleb, Leilani & Olivia who are my main inspiration. What more could a girl ask for? When I'm not scouring Pinterest for hours (I'm working honey, I promise) you can find me digging in my fairy garden, dancing with the kids or cleaning my Dyson. Who wants a dirty vacuum? My love for parties began over 10 years ago when I was planning my sons 1st birthday. I realized I had a huge passion for details (some might call it an obsession). After many years and wonderful birthday memories later Sweet Jelly Parties was born. Children's events and baby showers are our specialty but I'm a lover of all reasons to celebrate. Anniversaries, holidays, graduations, it's a Friday so let's throw a party.....You name it, I'll glitter it. Every once in a while though I like to trade in my juice box for a glass of wine which is why I'm also a Certified Wedding Planner.
