Campfire French Toast


Our Campfire French Toast cooks over indirect heat on a grill, but you can always use your oven if roughing it isn’t your thing.

Served in a Re-Play bowl. Available in 14 colors. 

Whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg in a bowl.

Wrap the bread in tinfoil and top with blueberries and pecans.

Pour the egg and mix mixture over bread and cover with another foil piece, tightly wrapping to prevent spills.

Place over a campfire or grill (low heat) and cook for 40 minutes, rotating occasionally. Alternatively, bake for 40 minutes at 375 degrees.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Ingredients:

  • 1 small loaf of bread
  • 1/4 cup pecan pieces
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • Powdered sugar
  • Maple syrup

Preparation:

  1. Arrange a campfire or grill to low heat.
  2. Wrap bread loosely in foil to form a bowl around it. Sprinkle pecan pieces and blueberries over bread.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Pour over bread.
  4. Cover the top with another piece of foil and wrap tightly to prevent leaks.
  5. Cook 40 minutes, rotating occasionally on campfire or grill.
  6. Allow to cool 10 minutes prior to serving with powdered sugar and maple syrup.

Note: The recipe can be baked in the oven for 40 minutes at 375 degrees.
