Pumpkin Cupcakes

These Pumpkin Cupcakes are such a fun harvest time treat!

Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved the season of Fall.  The smells, sweater- weather, flavors and scents are what this girl likes 🙂  Since becoming a mom a little more than 6 years ago, we have made it a tradition to take our kids to our local pumpkin patch.   It’s something my husband and I and my kids look forward to every year.  There is just something about apple cider donuts, corn stalk mazes, and pumpkins am I right? 🙂 Recently my kids and I decided to make some fun and simple pumpkin cupcakes in anticipation of Fall coming.   You really only need a few simple ingredients and just a little bit of time to create these little guys.  It’s a treat even the kids can have fun making!

  • Cupcakes, box mix or homemade
  • Orange Frosting
  • Chocolate Tootsie Rolls
  • Green Flavored Tootsie Rolls, or other green candy

First you will frost all of your cupcakes with a pretty orange frosting.  You can use either homemade frosting that is colored orange or you can find orange frosting at your local grocery store.

Once you finish frosting your cupcakes take the tip of a plastic knife and insert it into the top middle of your cupcake.  This just helps the tootsie roll stay in place. Insert your tootsie roll.

Take your green tootsie roll and roll it out flat. Using a plastic knife, cut out a leaf shape. Use your fingers to help smooth the edges.  Use the plastic knife to press leaf veins on the green tootsie leaf.

Add your leaf and small vine to your pumpkin cupcake and enjoy!
